Seize your opportunity to be a Champion Fundraiser, competing with other teams around the world in the "Ugly Veg Olympics".

By becoming a Champion Fundraiser, you will learn how to motivate your network through fundraising activities, and take on "dares" that raise awareness for Sustainable Developement Goals 2 and 12:

HOW TO PLAY
The Ugly Veg Olympics is a competition between various teams, in which each team completes fundraising and awareness-raising "challenges" in order to win Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals.
The aim of each team is to collect as many medals as possible in order to stand a chance of winning a Prize.
BRONZE MEDALS:
Teams gain Bronze Medals by completing the following challenges:
1. Sign up your team.

2. Fill in your team's "fundraising page".
​
3. Complete a video-call Training Session with Eat United to prepare fundraising and awareness-raising challenges.

AIM: 3 Bronze Medals
SILVER MEDALS:
Teams gain Silver Medals for each awareness-raising challenge they complete:
Awareness-Raising Challenges
are fun videos or photos that we challenge your team to take. We aim to raise awareness about food security, food waste and the work of Eat United by posting these photos and videos on social networks.

Each challenge you complete wins your team a Silver Medal.
AIM: 5 Silver Medals
GOLD MEDALS:
Teams gain Gold Medals by reaching fundraising milestones.
Teams raise funds by carrying out Fundraising Activities. You will be guided through choosing and planning your Activities by the Eat United team, through a "Guide to Fundraising" booklet and the Training Session team video-call.

A Gold Medal is awarded when your team reaches the following targets:
U$100, U$300, U$600, U$1000,
and then for every additional U$200.
AIM: At least 4 Gold Medals
HOW TO WIN
Teams compete to collect Bronze, Silver and Gold medals.
Every team that completes a full set of medals wins a Certificate of Recognition as Champion Fundraisers, and stands a chance of winning a Prize.
Champion Fundraiser Certificate
Each team that manages to complete the full set of medals receives a Champion Fundraiser Certificate of Recognition.

THE PRIZES
Every team that completes a full set of medals is eligible to win a Prize.
Prize #1 goes to the team with most Gold Medals (most funds raised).
Prize #2 is awarded by lottery to one of the remaining Teams that collected a full set of medals.
PRIZE #1: Visit Eat United in Nicaragua
The team that raises the most by the deadline of 28 Feb 2019 will win a trip to Nicaragua, including a Volunteering experience with Eat United.
It can be used at any time in 2019-2020 (at a time that suits the winning team). Prize includes:

Flight tickets for the winning team
accommodation
Free Homestay
accommodation during your time as a volunteer
volunteer
Spend time helping out the team on the ground
(1 month max.)
PRIZE #2: lifetime Nicaraguan cooking kit
Each team that manages to complete a full set of medals by the deadline of 28 Feb 2019 enters in a lottery to win Prize #2.

Get a friend involved! Form a team of 2 people.

Create a team name inspired by an Ugly Veg. Set a custom URL for your team. Write your unique appeal that explains to your friends and contacts what you're doing and why. (Format provided).

You'll receive an email confirming your participation. This email contains Next Steps and Resources for you to use.

Follow the link in the confirmation email to make a date for your video-call Training Session with the Eat United team. We'll help get your started with your challenges.
THE DATES
Opening Ceremony: 1 December 2018
Closing Ceremony: 28 February 2019
Teams are able to gain medals between these two dates.
Medals collected after these dates do not contribute to the team's result.

New teams can sign up at any point before the Closing Ceremony. You'll still be in with a chance to win!

A 30-min Training Session via Video-Call to kick-start your team. You schedule a slot to suit you; duration 30mins – max 1 hour.
